Hopefully this explains a bit how I did the illustrations.
I did a line drawing template to help me place each shape. All the shapes are cut out individually and then layered on top of each other to make the illustration.  I numbered all the shapes to save confusion once I had all these little pieces of paper on the table. I enjoyed doing this, but it’s so time consuming and I numbed my index finger from using a scalpel so much!The final illustrations I composed on photoshop after scanning each part of the image in separately. I read in Digital Arts magazine that this was a good tip instead of sticking everything down first. Also each illustration is A3 and I only have an A4 scanner, so that didn’t leave me many options…
