Sketchbook work
I was inspired by Laura Barrett when I did this. After going through a Disney phase I based this one on Beauty and the Beast, when Belle looks through the mirror and see’s her father. The idea was to create depth by building each stencil up on a new page. It’s kinda how Disney first made their films, with the different glass screens with foreground, mid ground and background painted on them. I’m really pleased with how this turned out. Why do I put my hands through so much pain? First the Owl and the Pussycat, now this. I’m going to have to give my scalpel a rest, blunt blades and blistered fingers are not fun!
